Welcome

This project was initiated by North Muskham Parish Council, with the explicit intention of recording the memories and stories of current villagers. It was recognised that there had been some excellent research on the impact of WW1 and WW2 on village life, but that a focus on more recent history, through both written and oral story-telling, would be of further, considerable benefit in building relationships and connections across village groups. In addition, the project will make available to future generations the stories, artefacts and anecdotes that capture the very essence of a riverside village, its culture and heritage.

This website will be accessible to all villagers, who will be able to add photographs, stories and memories for the foreseeable future.

The Parish council advertised the project through the village email group and, following their expression of interest, Geoff and Anne Readman were asked to lead the project.  They are two professional consultants that have considerable expertise in story-telling, process drama and theatre-making in educational contexts. They have worked together locally, nationally and internationally.

We are particularly pleased, thankful and appreciative, that Geoff and Anne agreed to manage this important project. Please contact either of them at any time, if you would like to contribute to the project in any way at all.

Ian Harrison. Chairman of Nth Muskham PC.
